hello families, girlfriend (with no 's'), friends, boys and girls.
here are some tips for better living/visiting days in HK
do not go if you are:
1. unfit. imagine walking 5km everyday and nobody's obess in HK.
2. broke (get ready to spend the unncessary, simply couldnt resist)
3. dreaming of exotic holidays. this town is crazy hectic and too much happening
traveling tips:
1. if you are coming in from macau, take a bus to jetty - only HKD 3 rather than by a cab (KHD 60)
2. bring moisturizer along
3. octopus card is useful. in fact its necessary. utilized by all public t'port. and can be topped up at 7e
4. no need to exchange RM - patacas
5. halal food is tough to get. eat fillet or die. or go to kowloon there is 1 Paki town.
6. living in HK is like living in simcity. get busy or die boring. either you do shopping, eat out, or take public trnsport for no reason. house/apt is too small, you see bricks and wall. go outside also you see wall of tall buildings all over your entire perspective.
7. high cost of living
shopping. if youre a gucci mama or burberry lady, you may want to go to these shopplex (imagine Armani has a complex by itself):
1. central
2. mandarin oriental
3. princes building
but if you are a gentleman getting working for some stable company and comfortably live with the perks received, i recomend you these mall (klcc, mid valley alike), but the sale (off season or come festive) is no nonsense like Msia (hike price then give discount so the price back to square one)
1. pacific mall - klcc alike
2. times square
3. sogo
4. lane crawford
5. mong kok (petaling street alike)
6. shenzen ( a must!)
7. tsim sha tsui
in specific, these good are really cheap like few hundreds cheaper:
1. camera
2. designers (sale)
3. game console
4. sports attire
haha actually they are all of my interest. my bad. but seriously, most of the item there is way cheaper. some readings says that HK has always wanted to offer the llowest i.e. compared to KL, Dubai, etc price so everyone will/can spend. something to do with spending power strategy
sightseeing, you can go to:
1. kowloon/IFC jetty, marvellous laser show (one of the best in the world)
2. the peak
3. midland
4. any temple will do
5. HSBC tower
6. stanley beach
7. lantau island - tian tan buddha
some things to at least be aware of:
2. be amazed at the MTR. under the sea, multi layer underground/sea (exactly like london tube)
3. one of few countries with trams
4. HK is like Pulau Pinang (mainland and island) - with other small2 island
5. 1 HKD = RM 0.431 (as of today)
6. not many malays (maybe 20 or less) stay here, other than consulates
7. rental rate for an apartment at ave size of 1000 sq ft is HKD 20000
8. automobile scene is similar to brunei. ferrari can be seen everyday
9. scaffold is made of bamboo. so jackie chan's movie is not exagerating
10. grass hardly can be seen unles you go to some park
that's all for now. bye2.
